Its been a while...

My dad is home visiting from Beijing. Pinky threw up the day he came back. I think it was from either jealousy over my mom's attentions, or he was just too excited.

I think I need to find that Over the Rainbow song from 50 First Dates. It makes me feel better, and I need it.

I heard that if all the people in China started walking past you in a line, the line would never end because the rate of reproduction.

Adding to my list of musical achievements. I know five chords on the guitar, and an assorted collection of children's songs on the recorder.

Saturday, May 14, 2005

Everyone's invited to my first recital requirement knock-off. Tomorrow
night-May 14th, 8:00 PM-University Church at USC. Down the street from
the Dental School, Across the Street from the Film/Music Buildings. I
think its at the Hoover/Jefferson Intersection. Street parking will be
free by then!

Other recent events:

Finished with the school stuff. Whew!
-My dearest Jen is moving to NYC. She's going to be so happy!
-My dearest Val is going to rock Baltimore, they'll never know what hit'em!
-Babysat Pinky the cat for a few days while mom visited dad in beijing.
I've never seen such a sweet cat (as he was solely dependent upon me
for food, water, attention and comfort). Then mom came home, and the
spoiled brat-cat came back-disdain for me in every movement. Sigh...

some bug bites and wet socks...well, the socks didn't come home with
me...

Its the home stretch for this semester! Papers, projects, recitals and
concerts. I pray that I'll get through it all with sanity intact...

I've been baking my eggs. I think people have been doing it for years,
but I've only just discovered it! Its so great. I'd gotten tired of
scrambled, poached, sunny side up and boiled. Baked is sort of an
in-between poached and sunny side up. You can add some spinach, cheese
and grated mushrooms, and a much better morning ensues...

I dropped my darling Thinkpad yesterday, and he wouldn't turn on for 13
minutes. Then, he came back to me without a single complaint. *whew*
Jian and I
pulled off a rowdy rendition of the Brahms B today just in time for E.
Schoenfeld. *whew*

Air bag light on my car is on-and when I asked the dealership, they
told me that there is many-a-car driving around with the air bag light
on....

Can't wait for this wknd. East coast will be a refreshing
change-although the weather has been near perfect here. I wonder if the
cherry blossoms have all flown away...

Li Yundi----doubts about him.

I'm so into Grey's Anatomy! I practiced an entire hour straight without
putting the fiddle down for bathroom/kitchen/phone/computer breaks
because I didn't want to miss a single second of the show!!! (Yes, I
practice with the sound off/caption on. )

"Jen! Are you near a computer! Quick!"
"Yes, are you lost?"
"No!"
"Do you need directions to a restaurant?"
"No!"
"Do you want me to check if you got an email from _____?"
"NO!"
"What else could be wrong!"
"GO TO EBAY.COM! Check on my BID before the time ends!!!"
"ok ok, what are you bidding on?"
"EYE CREAM!"

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAH

by the way, i lost the bid, and in the end, we decided it wasn't a
really good idea to bid on beauty products on ebay. you never know how
old or where its from...
of shopping, walks through central park, brunch, shopping, tea and
eating, birthday celebrations, a new sort of hotel experience,
desserts, precious apple chips!, eye/hand creams, weill hall, seeing old friends, breakfasts with books about
garnishing , burgers, and making a new personal favorite movie of Shall We Dance!
BECAUSE-one year ago
to date-I had this unfortunate incident with this pedestrian-it was his fault for jaywalking-but
anyhow, he had one year to file anything against me, and at some level,
I've been holding my breath until today. Thank God. Really. Whew! Now I can visit the Audi
dealership thats next to school. (he worked there-so I never felt
comfortable going there for anything).

What else has been going on? Jen and I have had some good talks on
whether best friends of opposite genders can become close friends
without attraction becoming a problem, the whole "he's just not into
you" phenomenon, egg beaters and why they are yellow if they are
basically egg whites, burning calories and what that actually means,
seafood pasta salad-and Jen's personal version, the merits of fruit and
raisins in tuna salad, my current fascination with grapes, how often
one should go grocery shopping, committment/relationship phobias and
most importantly-eye creams.

Time to practice...I'm afraid that will never, ever, ever change.
